OUR HISTORY

About Fidelity Exterminating

After the Korean War, and a four-year jaunt in the U.S. Air Force, Staff Sergeant James Lampson, with his wife and new baby girl, returned from Lakenheath, England, to his hometown, Beaumont, Texas. Now back home, he was able to prepare for his adult life dream of a home-owned exterminating company.

His aim was to afford every customer a service which could be depended upon. He set his standards high. It was his belief that in order to succeed he needed to be knowledgeable and well educated not only in the many facets of the pest control industry, but also in the community in which he lived.

Jim had already gained the reputation as an honest and hard working person, respected for both his business ingenuity and skills, as well as for the way he conducted his personal life.

Jim attended classes on termite and pest control which were frequently held in Houston. He was constantly searching to further his knowledge of the many changes in the growing science of entomology and of the many new chemicals which were being introduced into the market.

His aim was to gain not only for the credence of his own business, but also for the growth of the industry throughout the state. The fast growing pace of the industry was now emerging into respectful businesses,   leaving behind the long suffering reputation it once held.

Some of Jim’s greatest achievements were in his strength for the parts he played in the promotion and organization of various state and local entities which were geared towards the betterment of the pest control industry in its entirety.

Jim enjoyed his business and the many friends he made along the way. Several years before Jim began to think of retiring, he was awakened to the many talents his young son-in-law, John Wagner, possessed. John was ingrained in his own endeavors and held an admirable reputation as one of Nederland High School’s finest teachers in the field of mathematics.

He had also acquired strong capabilities in his knowledge and experience in construction early on. Besides the versatility of his many skills, John persevered in everything he pursued. No task appeared to be too menial or too great, and he approached each one with dignity.

When John expressed an interest in some day being a part of Fidelity Exterminating Company, Jim quickly brought him into the company on a part-time basis and began training him in the same manner in which he himself was once trained.

Jim and John were alike in many ways. Their self respect, the appreciation of each other, and their individual work ethics and values merged into a warm friendship filled with great hopes for the future.

Several summers of full-time employment in termite and pest control passed before John left the field of teaching and became Jim’s right-hand man. As he began to ease the work load for Jim he also created his own place in the company, sharing the title with Jim of “the best termite man in the area.”

After forty-two years of activity in the pest control industry, in 1998, Jim proudly passed the torch of his most prized possession, Fidelity Exterminating Company, to John Wagner, his good and loyal friend, remarkable and valued son-in-law.

The well being of its many customers is still preserved in Fidelity Exterminating by John’s tireless effort for utmost safety and his aim to provide each and every customer a continuous quality service. Fidelity Exterminating continues to offer the most updated and complete service technologies available on today’s market.

Today, Fidelity Exterminating Company still holds its well-earned, respected name

and reputation.
